ABOUT SIMATS
The main objective of creating the Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust in 1986 was to offer medical assistance, promote learning, and foster research
To fulfill its mission of serving the people, especially those residing in rural villages around Chennai and nearby districts in Tamilnadu, the Trust started the Saveetha Dental College in 1988, along with a General Hospital. Over time, the Trust went on to establish other colleges, including a Nursing College, Physiotherapy College, Occupational Therapy College, and Engineering College.
To meet the requirements of the University Grants Commission and obtain “Deemed to be University” status, the Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust established another Trust, known as the Saveetha Institute of Medical & Technical Sciences (SIMATS), in 2001. The Trust remains committed to its original vision of providing medical relief, education, and research opportunities, while also expanding its reach to serve a wider community.
